      Describes a Michigan program that was started in Dallas, Texas to have police alert local media as soon as a child has been confirmed missing. Local media then provide emergency alerts frequently during the first several hours, when it is most likely that an abductor will be seen by the general public. Sixteen children have already been saved by the program nationally. 8-01
