Announces that the Canadian figure skating competitors were also awarded gold medals, in addition to the Russian pair that received gold at the competition. The reason for giving a second couple the gold medal was the finding that the French judge had been guilty of misconduct during the event. Officially recognizing misconduct by a judge and then awarding a second gold medal has never occurred before in an Olympic event. 2-02
